Festival Suq in Genoa :: Theatre for intercultural dialogue

 

Art and creativity should be a rich and fertile soil for the encounter; they should lead to favourable interweavings, artistic contaminations and original exchanges. Based on these characteristic and after many years of Festival Suq, the project of a Compagnia del Suq was born in 2006, directed by Carla Peirolero.
In the performances there is a blend of narration, music, dance from all over the world, made by professional artists, from Genoa and the world: Orchestra Bailam's musicians, Roberta Alloisio, Esmeralda Sciascia, Enrico Campanati, Eyal Lerner, Jamal Ouassini, Sanjai Kansa Banik, Khar, Tatiana Zakharova, Nour Eddine, Gruppo Almudena, Tam Tam Magique, Septi, Marta Antonucci.
The research focuses especially on Europe and the Mediterranean, but it doesn't disregard African rhythms and dances.
Plays are based on international literature.

Foreigners bring good luck and On the route of Gulliver are the two latest shows, written by the anthropologist Marco Aime. There are many other authors: Arnaldo Bagnasco, Don Andrea Gallo, Laura Pariani, Ugo Volli.

Performances have played in important Italian festivals and theatres.
The Suq artists also develop  educational activities for students and lecturers and teachers
