VALENTINA ARCURI
Has a degree in Political Science. Since 1975 for more than 20 years she has worked in the theatre,
in particular with the shadow technique. She has collaborated for several years with “Teatro Gioco Vita” from Piacenza and with “Teatro della Tosse” from Genoa, staging shows that took place at the most important national and international exhibitions.
Besides her work with theatre, she develops experimental theatrical techniques, creating and directing courses in Italy and abroad.
During the 80’s she organised theatrical Festivals, performances and activities for the Schools of the Comunity of Genova.
From 1987 she started developing intercultural issues, organising and managing important events throughtout Italy such as the “Feste Nazionali dell’Unità”, the National Children Festival called “Ragazzi a colori”, the Art Festival called “Fare Arte” and some editions of the National Festival of the satiric newspaper called “Cuore”, with which she also collaborated as editor.
In the early 90’ she moved to Rome where she collaborated with ARCI, one of the most important cultural Associations in Italy and with Comunità Capodarco.
She developed professional courses for teachers and cultural operators in Liguria and Lazio.
For some years she has been a member of the Direction of The Cultural Centre Primo Levi in Genoa, where she organized the two editions of “Bambini a colori”, a project combining exhibitions, meetings and workshops designed to expand knowledge of different cultures.
In 1999 she founded Chance Eventi, created the Festival Suq in Genoa and all the events and theatrical performances that have been produced by the Association.
She has been designer and costumist for the cinema Director Aurelio Grimaldi for the films “Iris” (2002) and “Educazione sentimentale di Eugenie” (2005).
In 2006 she founded with her english partner “Equinox”, a french Company that organizes charter in Greece and runs a small Hotel in Haute Savoie, France.
